Dropbox 3.0 Hits iOS With AirDrop Support, Redesigned Icon

396
Along with a brand new app icon, Dropbox has redesigned its iOS apps with a new look and feel fit for iOS 7. Perhaps most important in the new features list is AirDrop support, letting users send links and files through Apple's instant sharing platform via Wifi or Bluetooth. The team has also improved sharing and exporting generally, making sure that sharing (not just saving) your files and content is super simple. As for the iPad, the experience has been simplified so that users can expand photos and files to fullscreen with a single tap. This should help power users stay organized within their troves of imagery and files. Dropbox has also improved the video saving function. Overall, you'll notice a lot more speed and far fewer crashes, plus "oodles of PDF viewing updates," according to Dropbox. But Dropbox 3.0 is really an opening act, says the company. The new Dropbox app is a bit like a new beginning for Dropbox on iOS. While many things will feel familiar, we hope you’ll notice the small tweaks that make a pretty big difference. And maybe best of all, it sets the stage for some exciting things to come. If you're interested in checking out the update, head over to the App Store now.
